School Counselor

Location: San Carlos, CA

Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, social, and emotional issues.
• Develop and implement counseling programs and interventions that support student achievement and well-being.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to identify and address student needs and challenges.
• Assist in the development of personalized learning plans and academic goals for students.
• Conduct assessments and provide referrals for additional services or support as needed.
• Facilitate workshops and presentations on topics such as stress management, study skills, and conflict resolution.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and student progress.
• Promote a positive and inclusive school environment through various programs and activities.
• Participate in school committees and contribute to the development of school policies and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a related field.
• Valid California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Counseling.
• Strong understanding of counseling techniques and best practices for supporting student development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Experience in a school counseling role or working with children and adolescents is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
