These roles serve to provide safety, health and environmental consultation through risk reduction with an eye towards safety contributing to business success. The SH&E Professional advises clients of their responsibilities regarding safety, health, and environmental issues, recommends and builds appropriate corrective actions and programs, problem solves, conducts tailored training and education, and builds solutions to achieve a safer working environment through engagement, exposure reduction and compliance. Primary emphasis will be on safety performance, culture, compliance, and continuously improving our clients’ EHS processes.
We are seeking project specific, part-time, and full-time candidates. We need dynamic, influential individuals who can professionally interact with our clients. Successful candidates will be self-starters and leaders who are organized, can manage multiple projects and service delivery schedules, and are comfortable to work both independently and as part of a team.

What You Will Do
Provide comprehensive EHS support and perform the following duties for clients:
- Lead: manage the process and drive service delivery for the client that meets and exceeds their occupational safety and health needs.
- Site / Risk Assessments: Evaluate workplace environments for organizational challenges, occupational safety and health hazards, and provide recommendations to correct these hazards.
- Programs: Develop and implement programs and policies for monitoring and preventing chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
- Training: Develop and facilitate safety training, within scope of knowledge, for clients on issues related to health and safety to enhance safety, skills, and ability.
- Industrial Hygiene: Survey, compile, and analyze data relating to occupational and environmental health issues such as chemical exposure, radiation, smoke, fumes, noise, temperatures, dusts, vapors, mists, gases, solvents, lighting, and ergonomics which are known or suspected of being real or potential detriments to health. Utilize monitoring instrumentation and equipment in the field, and laboratory verification of compliance with health regulations, and recommend control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.
- Guidance: Provide technical guidance regarding safety and health related problems, and correct use of protective clothing or accessories. Complete research to address and develop solutions for client safety issues.
- Trending: Conduct loss history analysis and risk rating mapping to identify trends and complete written evaluations to communicate concerns and outline methods to improve safety actions. Utilize / develop management of change techniques to use in managing corrective actions to completion.
- Business Relationship: Assessing, brainstorming, problem solving, developing and providing safety solutions in partnership with personnel to address and resolve safety issues as discovered or requested. Work with the client’s management to set and achieve safety goals. Provide solution options that positively impact the organization process and performance outcomes. Keep abreast of new developments in the industry and government regulations and maintain working knowledge.
- Compliance: Monitor the client's safety and health standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, use OSHA / applicable regulatory codes as a minimum guide, and seek opportunity to go beyond and make safety an accepted business practice.
Required Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field.
- 3 – 5 years of occupational experience.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate, recommend and implement solutions for moderate to complex problems.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate in a team environment, and present and communicate technical information to all levels of management.
- Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to organize and effectively coordinate multiple and frequently conflicting, concurrent tasks, with good follow-through.
- Computer experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Macintosh operating systems and associated software.
- Ability to build and nurture a strong working relationship with clients.
Desired Credentials & Skills
- Certification by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (ASP, CSP, SMS, OHST, CHST), or similar.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Sustainability knowledge: CDP / GRI framework knowledge and completion is a plus.
- Experience and knowledge in any of the following areas is a plus:
- Construction Safety - Authorized OSHA Construction trainer; construction equipment operator trainer; EM-385 trained instructor.
- Agricultural (field & processing) Safety – Farm equipment operator trainer, pesticide, understanding of BRC and GlobalG.A.P., Responsible Ag, food safety (FSMA).
- ISO 14001 / 45001 system development and implementation; Lead Auditor trained.
Location, Travel, Schedule
- Opportunities in California, Hawaii, Guam, Western US
- Travel, as required but anticipate travel up to 35% of the time
- Project-Specific deployed to client’s location; Part-Time and Full-Time hybrid with Travel from Home Office to Client’s Location
