Job Title: Laboratory Technician

The primary job responsibility will be to support the analytical chemistry unit in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare solutions, lab reagents, mobile phases, etc.
• Test raw materials (nitrogen, drums, liners, filters, etc.)
• Chemical sampling, packaging, and shipping, to meet customer requests
• Order laboratory supplies and unpacking and labeling of incoming supplies
• Glassware cleaning for the analytical laboratories
• Shipping samples for outsourcing to subcontractor laboratories
• Inventory maintenance, logging new samples, reserve samples, location transfers, etc.
• Delivery of samples and paperwork throughout the facility
• Performing routine analyses such as pH, appearance, ash, LOD, FTIR, titrations, chromatography support, etc.
• Participate in equipment qualification and instrument calibration
• Disposal of samples and expired chemicals
• Prepare documents and files for archiving and storage
• Other duties as assigned

Minimal Educational Qualifications

The candidate should minimally be a high school graduate and have work experience in chemical operations.

Specific Skills and Requirements

• Must know how to use a computer and programs such as Microsoft Office and Teams
• Must have basic chemical knowledge and be able to handle materials safely
• Must be able to communicate effectively with laboratory personnel
• Must be able to effectively multitask
• Experience with standard lab equipment (balances, pipettes, pH meter, etc.) is desirable
• This position requires flexible hours
