Qualifications
BSCE (preferred), 2 years’ experience in general civil engineering or the equivalent work experience of Six years in land development and/or public works design.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
· Assists the project engineer and design leaders to complete projects by preparing land development and public works designs, site plans, reports and studies using Civil3D and/or MicroStation/InRoads functions under the direction of a supervisor. In addition, prepares hydraulic and hydrologic studies using computer software.
· Assists clients in evaluating project feasibility by calculating earthwork and improvement quantities using Civil3D and/or MicroStation.
· Assists in facilitating an effective design by coordinating with all departments, subconsultants and agencies regarding plan check comments and design requirements relating to the project, as well as, understanding and communicating the ideas and concepts necessary to take preliminary plans to final engineering plans.
· Ensures plans and CAD files are accurate and up-to-date by processing construction changes and linking in-house designs to the field construction coordinator.
