Maritime Sheet Metal Manufacturing Estimator
Sierra Peaks is hiring a Maritime Sheet Metal Manufacturing Estimator to support our Lemon Grove, CA team. This position requires a detail-oriented personality, strong organization skills and the ability to work both individually and as part of a team. Ideal candidate has multiple years of maritime or sheet metal experience.
Job Responsibilities:
· Estimate pricing for naval sheet metal manufacturing projects including welding, forming, and cutting.
· Read and understand engineering drawings, and identify cost-driving features, processes, and requirements.
· Review project plans, specifications, and technical documents to understand project requirements and scope of work.
· Analyze project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and services to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
· Utilize quoting tool to generate sales quotes promptly and accurately in accordance with customer inquiries and specifications.
· Review RFQs and purchase orders and respond in a timely manner.
· Prepare detailed takeoffs and material lists based on project requirements and specifications.
· Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and administrative personnel to gather required information to price work profitably.
· Work closely with Sierra Peaks sales team and engineers assisting with RFP’s and contract review.
· Liaise effectively with customers to understand their requirements and provide tailored quotes that meet their needs.
· Process orders efficiently and accurately through Sierra Peaks manufacturing.
· Monitor incoming emails and ensure prompt and professional responses.
· Use Employer Resource Planning (ERP) tool to track and communicate information
· Manage and update the Customer Relationship Management Software (Pipedrive)
Required:
· 3+ years of experience in maritime, naval, or shipbuilding manufacturing.
· Experience with sheet metal manufacturing, including cutting, welding, and forming.
· Capable of absorbing and articulating technical information.
· Experience writing estimates for parts that need to be manufactured.
· Ability to get estimates from suppliers on various related post processes.
· Highly motivated and goal-oriented, while working collaboratively for team success.
· Ability to prioritize effectively.
· Strong relationship building skills and communication skills.
· Strong attention to detail in both technical and administrative matters with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Must be eligible to work in the United States.
· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening test.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Preferred:
· Experience with government contracts and proposals
· Experience with procurement
