Position: Pharmacy Technician III
Location: Cleveland, OH (East Side)
We have two openings for Pharmacy Technician III roles on a 4-month contract-to-hire basis.
Hours: Monday to Friday, with shifts of 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM and 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
Responsibilities include assisting pharmacists with the retrieval, processing, preparation, and distribution of medications and sterile products for patient administration. Key tasks involve preparing unit dose medications, IV admixtures, parenteral nutrition, floor stock pharmaceuticals, and managing controlled substances.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Training and educating pharmacy staff on daily duties.
- Orienting new employees and coordinating training needs.
- Accurately preparing patient medications, including chemotherapy and narcotics, and maintaining Omnicell stock.
- Ensuring timely delivery and retrieval of medications.
- Inventory management and maintenance of drug stock, including automated dispensing cabinets.
- Supporting pharmacists with medication and patient care issues.
- Assisting pharmacy managers with employee-related training needs.
- Mentoring and developing technical staff.
- Complying with all relevant policies and protecting patient health information.
Qualifications:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Graduation from an accredited pharmacy technician program
- At least two years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician II in a hospital or community setting
- Understanding of the metric system and basic math
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with pharmacy computer systems, TPN compounders, and automated dispensing cabinets.
