Network Engineer
President Container Group, a leading independent manufacturer of Corrugated Packaging (Sheets, Boxes, Trays, Partitions, Displays, etc..) is seeking a full time Network Engineer for its factory in rural Orange County, NY (Middletown, NY), 60 miles north of New York City (20 miles from New Jersey and Pennsylvania). President Container, the manufacturing arm of PCG, is one of the largest corrugated plants (over 20,000 square feet) in North America. Our state-of-the-art facility has some of the most up-to-date machinery in the industry, and with it we produce in excess of 2.3 billion square feet of corrugated each year. Job Summary:
Responsible for IT support of desktop users and the corporate network.
Responsibilities:
· Maintaining computer networks including Microsoft Windows servers, SonicWall SSL VPNs, routers, Wireless Access Points and other physical hardware.
· Maintaining and setting up Windows PC’s and Dell Thin clients
· Experience with Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Office
· Familiar with Microsoft Active Directory
· Installing and configuring network equipment
· Supporting firewalls and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected
· Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems
· Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management
· Working with team on disaster recovery procedures
· Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
· Experience in a manufacturing plant
· Familiarity with ERP and Automation software
· Ability to provide customer service to user community in a professional manner.
· Demonstrate a sense of urgency to support issues in the user community.
· Help maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
· Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety.
· Assure consistent achievement of quality standards.
· Over the course of time, learn the various applications currently in use within the business and assist in training, exploring further uses of technology and make recommendations to assist the company in moving its technology forward.
· Additional duties may be assigned by management.
Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED is required.
· College degree preferred, but not required.
· Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines with a sense of urgency.
· 2-5 + years’ experience in Helpdesk or IT.
· Must have desktop support experience with MS Office.
· Must have ability to communicate effectively (written and oral).
· Must be highly energetic and a team leader.
A competitive salary and benefits package is offered. Salary is based on experience. There are two positions available at varied levels.
