Competitive pay rate is based on qualifications and experience. Differential pay for 2nd and 3rd shifts, weekends and holidays.
The Nursing Assistant assists the resident in performing activities of daily living, provides a clean and safe living environment, monitors the resident’s physical and emotional state, and reports observations to the Responsible Person for their shift. Certified Medication Aides also administer medications in compliance with the scope of their state certification.
Qualifications:
- Some High School
- 3 months job related experience
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- 1 year of experience preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
- For CMAs, current Certified Medication Aide certification
Responsibilities:
- Assists the resident with activities of daily living.
- Assists resident to bathe, provides evening care and toileting needs.
- Grooming, care of hair, fingernails and toenails.
- Dressing and undressing as needed.
- Assists resident with meal tray, cues resident to eat if needed, provides between meal snacks and fluids.
- Reminds or assists residents with oral hygiene.
- Answers beepers promptly.
- Instills confidence in the resident by maintaining a neat and attractive appearance and performing duties in a competent and caring manner.
- Maintains a safe and attractive environment for residents and co-workers, transports residents and equipment as appropriate.
- Works effectively as a team member in the delivery of care and assists in the orientation of new employees.
- Provides for comfort needs of residents.
- Utilizes resources and materials in an efficient and safe manner.
- Shows dependability by being punctual, maintains consistent attendance.
- Maintains good working relations among employees through appropriate communications.
- Changes bed linens routinely and as needed.
- Completes documentation in a timely and professional manner.
- Accepts reassignment as needed to provide necessary care of all residents.
- If employed as CMA, also administers medication within the scope of the Certified Medication Aide certificate.
Essential Functions:

- Must be able to lift, move and transfer residents as needed
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Job requires use of computer, typing, reading and/or writing
- Job requires standing, walking and lifting under 15 pounds
- Job requires lifting, moving, loading 15-30 pounds
- Job requires lifting, moving, transferring residents, loading and unloading 31-50 pounds
- Job requires above average strength and stamina, lifting or moving materials over 50 pounds
