We are seeking a full-time, registered, and experienced Vascular Sonographer to join our dedicated team at our Annapolis and Easton locations. This role offers a chance to work in a patient-centered practice that values collaboration and high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct Venous Duplex Ultrasound Evaluations: Perform assessments of the deep and superficial lower extremities for new and follow-up patients.
• Support Physician During Procedures: Prepare equipment, assist during physical exams and medical procedures, and ensure safety and quality of treatments.
• Patient Education: Provide clear explanations of ultrasound results (excluding diagnosis and treatment plans) to patients.
• Diagnostic Ultrasound Studies: Evaluate for venous insufficiency and DVT by performing detailed ultrasound studies.
• Follow-up Scans: Conduct all necessary follow-up scans as directed by the physician.
• Venous Flow Mapping: Create detailed maps to assist the physician in recommending effective treatment plans.
• Efficient Patient Flow: Adhere to time allotments for each scan to maintain a smooth workflow and review/update the ultrasound schedule.
• Room Setup and Maintenance: Assist in setting up and cleaning vein consultation rooms, and maintain equipment and supply inventory.
• Patient Communication: Triage phone inquiries and document actions in medical records; assist with phone duties when the receptionist is unavailable.
• Team Collaboration: Help other staff members with their duties as needed and maintain up-to-date credentials and CMEs.
• Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned to support practice operations. Requirements:
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Vascular Ultrasound preferred, with experience in vein mapping.
• Certification: Graduation from an accredited vascular technology program and certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS), or Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RphS) is preferred.
• Skills: Strong focus on patient care, excellent communication, ability to work under pressure, and responsible handling of confidential information.
• Travel: Willingness to travel between Annapolis and Easton, MD locations.
