Summary
Responsible for the maintenance and operation of FIRST RF’s 50-foot anechoic test chamber. This will include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of the test chamber as well as setting up and conducting a wide variety of tests on a wide variety of antennas from research and development prototypes all the way to full fledged FIRST RF products. The Range Operator will collaborate with technicians and engineers to keep the testing schedule organized and running smoothly. Additionally, the Range Operator will be tasked with learning and understand electromagnetics, RF theory, and test coordinate systems.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and photocopiers.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
In addition, the employee must be able to lift and move up to 40lbs, and lift 30lbs over their head.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. During training, the schedule is expected to be Monday--Friday, from 8:30am--5:00pm. Once training is complete, the schedule will shift to Monday--Friday, from 9:30am--6pm. However, these hours will vary based on workload and the manager’s discretion. This job may require more than 40 hours of work per week as the need arises.
