Job Description:
The Senior Accountant will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, experience with accounting software such as NetSuite or similar, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The Senior will provide financial support to the organization by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial data, ad hoc analysis, and key metric reports. The position will work closely with the management team to provide consistent reporting metrics across multiple projects. The Senior will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Essential Job Functions:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Financial Statement Preparation and Financial Analysis
- Owning the month-end close process, including review and analysis of all trial balance accounts to ensure financial statement accuracy in compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Create insightful close packages that summarize key production and accounting trends for management review
- Analyze financial and quantitative data related to company productions, confirming completeness and accuracy of financial statements
- Recording of journal entries (including intercompany entries), preparation of balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, and trend analysis, as well as prepare invoices for intercompany billing
- Produce monthly and weekly reports, which include key metrics, calendars, and variance reporting related to the film and television productions Audit and Risk Management
- Audit and Risk Management
- Conduct audits of departments, and processes within the organization to include preparing audit reports for management review
- Drive process improvements and automate manual workflows to achieve efficiency in auditing and compiling required deliverables for internal reporting and external audits
- Test and report on internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and organizational policies and procedures
Other Tasks
Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to management as needed
Performing other work-related duties as assigned and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Competencies and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA preferred, but not a requirement
- Previous accounting, finance, business, or related field experience required
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience in auditing, accounting, or similar work environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to solve problems independently and exercise judgment when solutions are unclear
- Strong computer aptitude, including expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word, with an ERP system, and accounting software
- Strong analytical skills with particular attention to detail
- Adaptability in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to collaborate with others
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
- The ability to function within the guidelines of the policies implemented by TPS management, including adhering to dress code, use of property, job competence, and integrity
- The ability to perform the physical and mental requirements of the job and adhere to the Company’s attendance policy
Work Environment:
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Work may be performed in a combination of office and potential outdoor environments if needed. Employees may be required to work weekends or evenings as the need arises.
