We are seeking a Telephone Triage Nurse to join our team! You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of assigned patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assist patients by phone and at times in office with medical related questions regarding his/her healthcare, lab results and medication management
• Communicate with in-office providers regarding patient care and relay information to patients in a timely manner
• Educate patients about health maintenance and disease prevention
• Place referral orders to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities per providers' orders
• Maintain accurate patient medical records
• Authorize or deny medication refills
• Communicate with pharmacies regarding medication adherence and insurance coverage
• Communicate with insurance companies by phone, Cover My Meds and Athena integration to obtain prior authorization for medications.
• Communicate with patients regarding lab results and advise care based on provider's recommendation
• Work as a team with other phone triage staff in providing an exceptional patient experience
• Provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members

Qualifications:

• LPN license (Licensed Practical Nurse) or CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) with (medical) experience in a medical office or hospital setting
• Familiarity with medical software and equipment (Athena EHR, Cover My Meds) - Training provided if not familiar.
• Ability to build rapport with patients
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive approach to providing quality healthcare to all patients
• Reliability and ability to meet daily deadlines

Pay rate is based on certifications / licensure and experience.
