Job Summary
Performs moderately complex work advising students from connection to entry. Responsible for implementing recruitment and enrollment strategies and utilizing a caseload management approach to support students throughout the enrollment process. This position provides front line services to a defined caseload of students and is able to assist in non-routine situations that require problem solving skills. As an Enrollment Management team member, this position will seek knowledge of and pledges to actively engage in a Culture of Caring striving to respond systematically to student needs and remove barriers that may prevent students from achieving their personal and
professional goals. The effectiveness of this position will be determined through lead measures and goals focused on persistence and graduation which contribute to enrollment goals for the Enrollment Management division and University as a whole.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
· Must have 1 year of direct experience working in recruitment, advising, high school relations, admissions, records and outreach or related field in a college or university setting.
· Knowledge of student characteristics, campus/University programs, and services available to special populations.
· Knowledge of programs and focus areas in the Meta Majors, Dual Credit, Continuing Education, and Adult Basic Education.
· Skill in using a personal computer and associated software programs.
· Skill in communication and team building across all areas of the University. Ability to prepare/present programs to groups from various backgrounds.
· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
· Ability to supervise, train and evaluate staff.
· Ability to meet work schedules, work independently, follow established procedures and regulations, and use discretion and judgment. Ability to represent the University effectively in a variety of settings.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, and the public.
· Ability to use online student records management systems (e.g., Jenzabar, etc.).
· Ability to interpret and articulate assessment/test results for appropriate placement.
· Work with the Financial Aid Processing Center to resolve information discrepancies with financial aid applications.
· Ability to multi-task and work under conditions of high stress and high volume during peak periods.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Role and Responsibilities
· Provides advising to students and groups from connection to entry and provides an introduction to career/pathway.
· Provides referral services for students.
· Provide detailed information to all students regarding JCU’s programs including the application process, financial aid programs, eligibility requirements, and assistance with registration. Will also work closely with Veterans Services and Retention Services to support students in the beginning of their journey.
· Perform general admission/financial aid related tasks including tracking and follow-up to secure missing documents of all new, current, stop-out and dual enrolled students to ensure status is accurate including quality control of such documents.
· Work with the Financial Aid Processing Center to resolve information discrepancies with financial aid applications.
· Provides enrollment coaching to traditional and non-traditional student populations to include assistance with admission, financial aid, and scholarship applications.
· Compiles and analyzes data to inform strategic direction and action to effect enrollment.
· Supports daily operational duties (e.g., support of student success and enrollment strategic initiatives, etc.).
· Leads special projects. May be responsible for one or more special projects in support of student success.
· Provides outreach, recruitment and onboarding services including financial aid and scholarship guidance and assistance.
· Communicates internally and externally with students, partners, and stakeholders by e-mail, phone, Chat, F2F, Direct Mail and Web.
· Evaluates and interprets high school and college transcripts and test scores; may proctor assessment exams.
· Serves as an official liaison between students, staff, faculty, and administrators; assesses and coordinates services and streamlines processes in a changing environment.
· Supervises work study students and assists in the training of new employees.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
