Medical Assistant – Sports Orthopedics Office

Ocala, Florida

Schedule:

- Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Potentially shorter hours on Thursdays)

Total Weekly Hours: 25-29.5 hours.

Compensation: $19 - $23 per hour

Job Description:

A leading sports orthopedics office in Ocala, Florida, is seeking a motivated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to learn and grow and who has a passion for sports and a desire to work closely with student-athletes and other patients. The ideal candidate will have some familiarity with sports medicine or an interest in it. This is a fast paced role where you will support clinical functions, office support, patient intake, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in clinical duties, including sutures, removing staples, and patient triage.

- Take notes during patient calls and provide support in office-based tasks.

- Utilize NextGen EMR software for accurate patient record management.

- Provide excellent patient care, connecting easily with student-athletes and understanding their unique needs.

- Move efficiently and quickly throughout the office, ensuring smooth operations and timely patient care.

- Assist with managing sports injuries, triaging patients effectively, and coordinating care with the physician.

- Bilingual candidates are a plus to better serve our diverse patient population.

Qualifications:

- 2+ years of Medical Assisting Experience

-Certification or licensing in Medical Assisting is highly preferred

- Familiarity with sports medicine and orthopedic practices is a plus.

- Experience with NextGen EMR software is a plus.

- Ability to move around the office quickly and stay on your feet consistently.

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to connect with student-athletes and provide compassionate care.

- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
