Office Location: Northside Hospital and Johns Creek
Mammography Technologist - Option for a SIGN ON BONUS.
The Mammogram Technologist is responsible for performing mammograms on OB/GYN of Atlanta patients, for ensuring notification of results to patients, for maintaining quality control (QC) programs on the mammogram machine, working with area physicist regarding quality assurance (QA) and maintaining FDA inspection approval status.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Review patient chart for medical history and pertinent information before exam
- Give patient clear instructions on the exam to be preformed
- Complete all imaging according to the requirements/protocols set for the mammogram
- Minimize radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques
- Ensure that all images cross over into the PAC's system
- Schedule screening mammograms, diagnostic imaging (with abnormalities), and biopsy's by calling or faxing patient order to preferred facility
- Maintain follow-up for patients whose diagnostic exam recommends 3, 6, or 12 month follow-up
- Transfer patient images either through CD or Powershare
- Maintain routine inspections of mammogram machine, to insure Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA), as directed by FDA
- Responsible for stocking and cleaning mammogram exam room
- Coordinate activities/tasks to maintain accreditation with American College of Radiology (ACR)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Education: Graduate of an AMA-Approved Radiologic Technology training program. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in radiology and mammography
- Minimum Certification: Mammographic Radiologic Technology Certified
- Minimum Field-of-Expertise: Radiology and Mammography
- HIPAA Compliance
- OSHA Standards: Category I, II
