Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled IoT Architect to join our dynamic team. As an IoT Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of how client captures and utilizes process information to deliver value and solve complex problems. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of IoT technology with a leading global mining company, with a focus on physical security systems.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the design and architecture of IoT solutions, particularly focusing on physical security (cameras, badge readers) systems.
· Collaborate closely with the IT team, cross-functional leadership, external vendors, business analysts, customers, and key business users to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
· Provide technical expertise and analytic problem-solving to drive innovation and efficiency in IoT deployments.
· Oversee the deployment, management, and security of cameras (especially Axis cameras), RFID badge readers, security gates, and turnstiles.
· Ensure the effective management of IoT data through the use of systems like AVEVA PI and communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA, and MQTT.
· Facilitate the transition of knowledge and responsibilities from the current architect, who is retiring in 2025.
Top 3 Skills Required:
· Problem Solving and Analytic Thinking: Ability to diagnose issues and devise innovative solutions.
· Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge in IoT applications and physical security systems.
· IoT Applications & Physical Security: Experience with IoT deployments, particularly in the realm of physical security.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with AVEVA PI System
· Knowledge of Modbus, OPC UA, and MQTT communication protocols
· Proficiency with Microsoft Azure IoT solutions
· Expertise in IoT Applications and Data Management
· Extensive experience in camera deployment, management, and security (Axis cameras preferred)
· RFID Badge readers experience
· Experience with security gates, turnstiles, and similar systems
Duration: 6 months-to-hire

Hybrid role: Candidates MUST be local to Phoenix and able to travel to Phoenix, and various sites, periodically for meetings. (AZ, New Mexico, International travel would occur once FTE)
