Job Description:

ACF Data Analytics is on the lookout for an experienced Senior Data Scientist III with a strong background in healthcare analytics. This role involves analyzing complex healthcare datasets, developing advanced machine learning models, and delivering actionable insights to enhance public health strategies and outcomes. Ideal candidates will have substantial experience with data analysis and AI in healthcare contexts, particularly within organizations such as HHS, CDC, FDA, or CMS.

Key Responsibilities:

Healthcare Data Analysis & Interpretation:

• Analyze and interpret complex healthcare data sets, utilizing statistical methods and machine learning techniques tailored to healthcare needs.
• Develop and implement data models and algorithms to address healthcare-specific challenges, such as patient outcomes, disease patterns, and healthcare utilization.
• Create and present comprehensive data visualizations and reports to stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and policymakers.

Machine Learning & AI Development:

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions to improve healthcare operations and outcomes.
• Implement and experiment with various machine learning algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, for healthcare applications.
• Evaluate model performance and refine models to enhance accuracy and efficiency, with a focus on healthcare data.

Subject Matter Expertise in Healthcare:

• Apply domain knowledge in healthcare to provide insights and recommendations tailored to public health challenges and regulatory requirements.
• Stay informed about healthcare industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to ensure adherence to best practices and innovative solutions.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including healthcare data engineers, product managers, and business analysts, to integrate data-driven solutions into healthcare systems.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders, including healthcare providers and administrators.

Project Management:

• Manage multiple data science projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with healthcare objectives, regulatory standards, and timely delivery.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders from the healthcare sector.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field with a focus on healthcare analytics.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist in healthcare or a similar field, with a focus on data analytics, AI, and ML.
• Demonstrated success in developing and deploying machine learning models within a healthcare context.
• Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools such as Python, R, SQL, or similar.

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn).
• Strong knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is advantageous.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in a healthcare context.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI, with a focus on healthcare applications.
• Experience working with or within HHS, CDC, FDA, or CMS.
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) as they pertain to healthcare data.
