Volt is immediately hiring Software Engineer at Richardson, TX

As Software Engineer you will:
We are looking for a Software Engineer to support our teams in Richardson, Texas. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. In this role, you will use your solid foundation in Java and experience working in a Linux environment to comprehend customer needs and translate those needs into viable design solutions.

What You Will Do
• Opportunity to use your understanding of software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering (including software development lifecycle and software development process), design patterns, and Object-Oriented architecture.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
• Demonstrate your critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well.
• The ability to obtain and maintain SCI program access and complete polygraphs.

This is a 12 Month full time Contract or Contract to Hire opportunity.

This position requires Active Top-Secret Clearance.

The Ideal candidate will have:
• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a 2 years of experience.
• At least 1 year experience developing or supporting complex applications using Java.
• Experience with Agile and/or DevSecOps toolsets (e.g. Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Jenkins, Cucumber, etc.).
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.
• Experience with building automated tests.

Pay Range: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
