Job Summary:
We are looking for a full-time Paraprofessional to work closely with a high school student on a one-on-one basis. The ideal candidate will provide personalized support to help the student achieve their academic goals and develop essential life skills. This role involves assisting with classroom activities, supporting the students individual needs, and collaborating with teachers and parents to create a positive and productive learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support to a high school student with specific educational and personal needs.
Assist the student with classroom tasks, assignments, and activities to ensure understanding and engagement.
Help the student develop organizational and study skills to improve academic performance.
Support the student in social interactions and behavioral management within the classroom environment.
Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and parents to implement and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) and other support strategies.
Monitor the students progress and municate any concerns or changes in behavior to the appropriate staff members.
Assist in facilitating the students participation in school activities, both academic and extracurricular.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of the students progress and support activities.
Provide emotional support and encouragement to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
Previous experience working with students in an educational setting is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and a mitment to supporting students academic and personal growth.
Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage challenging behaviors and provide effective support in various situations.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the student.
