Position Overview:
We are looking for a compassionate and adaptable Paraprofessional to support a 1st grade student who is frequently absent due to illness. The role involves working 1:1 with the student, who requires assistance with behaviors such as refusing initial instructions and needing frequent redirection and supervision. This full-time position is available from ASAP through May 23rd, 2025, with a work schedule of 37.5 to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support and assistance to the 1st grader throughout the school day.
• Help with academic tasks and ensure the student completes assigned work.
• Implement behavior management strategies to address and redirect challenging behaviors.
• Assist the student with transitions and supervision during movement between activities and locations.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records of the students progress and behavior.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with young children or in an educational setting preferred.
• Strong patience, communication, and behavior management skills.
• Ability to adapt to the students needs and provide consistent support.
• Reliable and flexible with a commitment to working the entire assignment period.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications or certifications in education or special education are a plus.
