Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Special Education Teacher for a full-time, on-site role. In this position, you will work with students with disabilities, implement individualized instructional programs, and foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the needs of students with various disabilities.
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students in a classroom setting to meet their unique educational needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting instructional methods and strategies as necessary.
- Maintain an inclusive and positive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to address educational and behavioral concerns.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to remain informed of best practices in special education.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with students with disabilities and teaching at the middle or high school level.
- Strong knowledge of special education practices, including IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with students, staff, and families.
- Passionate about creating and maintaining an inclusive learning environment.
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field required; advanced degrees or additional certifications in special education are advantageous.
- Ability to adapt instructional methods and utilize technology to meet diverse student needs.
