Position: Special Education (SPED) Teacher

Job Overview: South St. Paul School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. This full-time position involves working in a high school resource room (Settings 1 and 2) with a focus on providing math support to students with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized math support to students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), Other Health Disabilities (OHD), and Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD).
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement effective strategies for student success.
• Support the academic and social-emotional development of students with diverse learning needs.
• Manage IEPs and provide case management for assigned students.

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m.

Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota teaching license in Special Education.
• Experience working with high school students in a resource room setting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of special education principles and best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field required.
• Masters degree in Special Education or related field preferred.
• Experience with IEP development, case management, and working with students with SLD, OHD, and EBD is a plus.
