Paraprofessional

Location: King George, VA

Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing lessons and helping with assignments.
• Support students with special needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) under the direction of the teacher or special education team.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, and report observations to the teacher or relevant staff members.
• Assist with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Help prepare materials and resources for lessons and activities.
• Support students during transitions between activities and locations within the school.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (associate's degree or higher preferred).
• Previous experience working with children or in educational settings is desirable.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently when necessary.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the needs of students and the school environment.
