Virtual Special Education Teacher

Location: Nebraska (Remote)
Job Type: Full-Time, Work From Home

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs in a virtual setting.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to engage students and promote learning.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to ensure academic growth.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create a cohesive learning experience for students.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student progress, IEP goals, and other required documentation.
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other relevant meetings.
• Stay current with best practices in special education and virtual instruction through professional development opportunities.
• Foster a positive and inclusive virtual classroom environment that supports the social-emotional development of students.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
• Valid Nebraska teaching certificate with an endorsement in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs in a virtual or in-person setting.
• Strong understanding of special education laws, IEP development, and instructional strategies.
• Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for instruction and communication.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
