Virtual Special Education Teacher
Location: Nebraska (Remote)
Job Type: Full-Time, Work From Home
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs in a virtual setting.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to engage students and promote learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to ensure academic growth.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create a cohesive learning experience for students.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student progress, IEP goals, and other required documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other relevant meetings.
- Stay current with best practices in special education and virtual instruction through professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive virtual classroom environment that supports the social-emotional development of students.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Valid Nebraska teaching certificate with an endorsement in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs in a virtual or in-person setting.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, IEP development, and instructional strategies.
- Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for instruction and communication.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
