Job Description: Bilingual Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and bilingual Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team for the uping school year in Manor, TX. As an essential member of our special education department, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support the assessment, treatment, and progress monitoring of students with speech, language, and munication disorders. Your ability to municate effectively in both English and Spanish will be instrumental in providing culturally and linguistically appropriate services to our diverse student population.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the supervising SLP in conducting assessments and screenings to identify speech, language, and munication disorders in students.
• Implement individualized treatment plans and interventions under the direction and supervision of the SLP, targeting speech articulation, language prehension, fluency, and pragmatics.
• Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups, utilizing evidence-based practices and instructional materials.
• Support students in developing and improving munication skills through structured activities and exercises.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to implement and adjust intervention strategies that promote student success in academic and social settings.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate documentation, progress reports, and other administrative tasks related to student services.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards as outlined by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and state regulations.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in speech-language pathology and bilingual education.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in munication Sciences and Disorders or related field.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with the ability to effectively municate and provide services in both languages.
• Valid Texas Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license or eligibility for licensure.
• Previous experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in an educational or clinical setting.
• Knowledge of speech, language, and munication disorders, as well as best practices in intervention and therapy.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including students, families, and educators.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail in managing caseload, documentation, and administrative responsibilities.
