Roles & Responsibilities:
· Support the execution of customer requirements for both New Apparatus and Service orders.
· Create and upgrade design specifications and initiate revisions to existing products – including design evaluation of interfacing components, materials, and documents.
· Perform updates to NX Models CREO Models, 2-D Graphics, and Bills of Materials in support of self-initiated changes and changes initiated by other engineers.
· Develop detailed Design assessments and release engineering information to support the manufacture and service repair of Generator rotors, stators, exciters, and collector products.
· Support manufacturing with technical advice, troubleshooting, co-operative problem solving, and disposition of product deviations, process reviews, and execution of design improvements.
· Perform calculations, prepare computer programs, write material and process specifications, and assist in conducting test and review / approve drawings.
· Provide technical support for negotiations of new and Service orders, including travel to customer sites, suppliers, and other manufacturing sites in order to resolve technical issues.
· Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing personnel through clear, concise and complete verbal and written instructions, specifications, and reports.
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
· Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
· Advanced solid modeling in NX (or equivalent) and strong knowledge on drawing creation
· SAP & Teamcenter knowledge
· Strong communication & presentation skills
· Excellent team player to support and serve the global team
· Ability to work independently with clarity on scope and responsibility
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
· High flexibility in taking new tasks/responsibilities
· Proactive and Solution Oriented.
Desired Skills:
· Familiarity with design, manufacturing and installation of power generation or other large industrial / rotating equipment, especially electric generators or motors.
· Technical leadership qualities and role model qualities demonstrated.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
· Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
· Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
· Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
· Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
· Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
· Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
