SUMMARYThe Instrumentation and Electrical Technician Lead provides leadership for production, production development, and administrative areas. This is by identifying, planning, coordinating performance and the execution of instrumentation and electrical installations and maintenance activities; 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. This individual is highly knowledgeable in electrical systems, instrumentation, control, and their associated standards.

The Lead is responsible for their assigned I&E Technicians. The Lead is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of a work unit. They carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, creating requisitions, and getting approval before major purchases, providing input to developing expense and capital budgets, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 10 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSCO State Electrical Journeyman’s license (preferred) or an equivalent of 10 years of industrial, electrical experience. CCST Level II/III certification preferred (Certified Control Systems Technician).
