- Part-time position for an experienced tax reviewer.
- Familiarity with forms 1040, 1120-S, 1065, 990, 1041 needed.
- Reviews individual, trust, and business tax returns for accuracy and completeness.
- Resolves errors and obtains missing information through correspondence.
- Communicates effectively with staff to build their skill set.
- Submits tax forms on behalf of clients to pay appropriate tax and maximize their benefits.
- Applies knowledge of tax credits, deductions, and current legislation.
- Interviews clients about their income and expenses, and gathers account details.
- Acts as a liaison between clients and the IRS.
- Assists in IRS and state audits, and advises clients on best practices.
- Reviews quarterly and annual tax compliance returns.
- Ensures tax returns are filed in accordance with industry best practices and certain IRS publications.
- Utilizes technical skills to locate and correct discrepancies.
- Provides direction and feedback to staff on engagement deliverables.
- Demonstrates proficient technical skills for handling client responsibilities and communication.
- Reviews simple to complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, and businesses.
- Services clients directly as necessary.
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent field.
- CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA) or Master's degree in Taxation required.
- 8+ years of technical tax experience in public accounting or related fields, 3+ years in a managerial role.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Strong operational and project management skills needed.
- Proficient use of applicable technology and related tax software.
- Familiarity with CCH Axcess, CCH Document Management and Workflow, My1040ToolKit, Quickbooks Online, TValue, Google Business Suite and Microsoft Office required.
