Offline CNC Programmer
Summary of position:
We are seeking a highly motivated CNC Programmer, experienced with both 3-axis and 5-axis mills. Work from solid models, technical drawings, engineering sketches, and other such documentation to produce a variety of prototype and manufacturing parts. Interpret specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to determine operation sequences.
Functions:
- Ability to program 3-Axis and 5-Axis CNC machines using Mastercam software.
- To read, understand, and create technical mechanical drawings, including orthographic projections, sectional views, part notes and dimensions and tolerances.
- Must be able to read precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, depth gages).
- Machining of all types of materials (aluminum, steel, graphite materials, etc.)
- Ensure we are machining and utilizing the machines as efficiently as possible.
- Ensure necessary information is available and programs are ready before jobs are going onto the machines.
Required Skills, Education & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a programmer/machinist in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Mastercam software.
- Understanding of milling, cutting, etc. and detailed functional knowledge of most common machine shop tools and machine helpful.
- Ability to read, understand, and create technical mechanical drawings, including orthographic projections, sectional views, part notes and dimensions and tolerances.
- Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime as needed.
