Job DescriptionWellmark is proud to continue to be a strong partner in our communities. Our Health Equity, Access, & Improvement division is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of ALL Iowans and South Dakotans, not just those who are members of Wellmark. This new division will work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders both within Wellmark and externally to energize Wellmark's on-going commitment to improve community health. This crucial addition to the team will assist leadership in their enhanced efforts to improve health outcomes and to address Iowa's and South Dakota's social determinants of health — the conditions in the places where people live, learn, work, and play that affect a wide range of health and quality-of-life risks and outcomes.
In this role you will serve as the main project resource and cross functional lead working with key internal and external stakeholders to proactively solve business problems using the analytics lifecycle across all domains. Work closely with cross-functional partners to drive successful data driven improvement recommendations from definition through completion, providing solutions and identifying risks. Plan and lead multi-domain, multi-phase business optimization efforts from definition to implementation; leveraging complex framework design to define and disaggregate problems; developing and testing hypotheses through use of deterministic and probabilistic modeling; managing cross-functional project team members’ capacity and deliverables; and communicating status updates, project results, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of leadership.

a. Participate in or conduct discovery sessions and stakeholder interactions to gain business understanding and identify business problem. Understand the project objectives and gather requirements to build a preliminary plan.
b. Research and gather appropriate data from various sources. Source, extract, assemble, collate, and consolidate data needs for the business.
c. Profile and prepare data for analysis.
d. Build and execute models to analyze business outcomes, using tables, graphs, and charts, as well as algorithms, forecasts, and trends.
e. Interpret results, identify key findings to quantify business value.
f. Develop a narrative to summarize and convey findings to stakeholders. Make recommendations based on findings.
g. Create, update, and maintain a production schedule for reporting and ensure reports and presentations are completed on schedule.
h. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and support corporate process improvement initiatives, meeting aggressive timeframes.
i. Collaborate with peers to identify reporting objectives and develop reports and analyses that meet their need and drive Wellmark’s value proposition for stakeholders.
j. Wrangle data from a wide variety of data sets and assemble into normalized and enriched data assets that enables new insights, solutions, and visualizations. Perform and document data profiling, quality assessment, source consolidation, aggregation, and other data manipulation efforts, to understand data formats, source systems, file sizes, etc.
k. Create, update, and maintain documentation and procedures for sourcing, analyzing, and preparing internal reporting and presentations. Ensure the highest quality and integrity of data sources.
