Speech Therapist
ROLE: SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
REQUIREMENT: Certification in Speech Therapy
SHIFT STATUS: PRN
PURPOSE OF YOUR POSITION:
In your role as a Speech Therapist you will be asked to work with a variety of
disorders, not only problems in communication that can result from neurological
or surgical events, but also difficulties with swallowing and nutrition and To work
as a member of the Hospice team in providing Hospice care. Provides patient/
resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment and consultation to a general rehab
caseload. Participates in the clinical team process. Provides teaching and training to caregiver
staff. Involvement in clinical program development. Supervises other therapists, assistants, aides
and students as required.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Directly responsible to the Program Manager. May directly supervise recently graduated SLPA,
Aides and Rehab Aides.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
bachelors of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology or equivalent

Experience:
• speech therapy: 1 year (Preferred)
• Long Term Care: 1 year (Preferred)
