Job Summary
Seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join a winning team in Pensacola, Florida. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and test software applications for defense and military systems. You will work closely with a team of engineers to ensure the software meets the required specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in software development and be familiar with programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python. Additionally, experience with real-time operating systems and embedded software development is preferred. Responsibilities
Design and develop software applications for defense and military systems
Collaborate with a team of engineers to ensure software meets required specifications and quality standards
Test and debug software to ensure it is reliable, efficient, and secure
Research new technologies and methodologies to improve software development processes
Document software designs, code, and test results for future reference
Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers
Requirements
Skills:
U.S. Citizenship
Active Secret clearance.
Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. TS/SCI is preferred.
Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability
6+ years of software development experience required
4+ years of hands-on experience with Java development and related technologies
2+ years of experience in Agile software development methodologies.
Expertise installing and configuring SecureSphere Imperva Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and Database Activity Monitoring (DAM)
Advanced experience in securing network traffic using AWS API Gateway, AWS Application Load Balancers, cloud-security technologies (e.g., VPC, Security Groups), and Access Control (IAM)
Proficiency with intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), RSA Security Analytics (NetWitness), Symantec Bluecoat, Cisco FirePower (SourceFire), Splunk, PKI, and certificate management
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
Two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree-level education.
A Master's degree in a related discipline may be substituted for four years of experience
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
5+ years of Cloud DevOps Administrative or Engineering experience
3+ years of related Network Security Identity Management tools engineering experience, including installing, configuring and troubleshooting experience with one or more of these tools:
SecureSphere Imperva Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Database Activity Monitoring (DAM)
RSA Security Analytics (NetWitness)
Symantec Bluecoat
Cisco FirePower (SourceFire)
Splunk
Desired Certifications
One or more of the following: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Windows/Linux Admin, Cloud SIEM, CISSP, Security+, Network+, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP)
One or more of the following certifications related to Agile development and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe): Scrum Master, Product Owner, SAFe Agilist (SA), SAFe Practitioner (SP) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)
