CareSTL Health is seeking a Mammography Technologist to operate radiologic equipment and perform mammography procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing disease. In addition, the Mammography Tech is responsible for detecting breast tissue abnormalities by completing mammographic imaging studies; and presenting them for diagnosis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform/produce quality radiography and mammography exams safely and properly with all patients
- Takes general X-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety
- Scan all necessary documents into the appropriate database for interpretation by the radiologist
- Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; explaining imaging procedures; explaining equipment; and answering questions.
- Applies principles of radiation to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Practices aseptic/sterile techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Clean the exam room and equipment after use and/or every patient
- Operates imaging equipment and other related radiology equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and printer
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures.
- Assist with registering patients, scheduling appointments, and importing and exporting CDs and reports.
- Assist coworkers with their duties
- Other duties as assigned by the Radiology Director and Chief Information Officer
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Must have received a Certificate of completion from an allied health education and accreditation (AMA) accredited radiology program which meets the requirements of the American Registry of Radiological Technologist
- Must be a certified mammography technologist with 40 hours of training, completed 15 CMEs in the past 3 years, and have performed 200 mammograms in the previous 24 months
Experience:
- 1 year of experience performing screening and diagnostic mammograms
- 1+ years of experience in a radiology setting
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have excellent oral/written communication skills
Transportation Requirement:
- Must have Reliable Transportation
