Position Summary

The Audiology Technician is responsible for performing testing and maintaining data related

to audiology services. May perform automated hearing screenings, and first follow-up

screenings, for patients as directed by the Audiologist or Center Operations Director.

Core Responsibilities

• Fulfill assessments of patients needing ear mold impressions or hearing aid/assistive device repairs or modifications.
• Schedule hearing aid fittings or follow up appointments.
• Receive/screen calls from veterans, walk-in appointments, or income devices.
• Perform troubleshooting checks on malfunctioning hearing instruments or assistive listening devices.
• Determine patient needs to modify their VA-issued hearing aids.
• Reset the fitting parameters of programmable hearing aids independently.
• Operate hearing aid fitting technology and software to prepare hearing aids for re-issue.
• Document direct patient care activities in Computerized Patient Entry System (CPRS)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• At least one or more years of demonstrated audiology experience preferably in a healthcare environment.
