- Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations on patients of all ages and developmental abilities, with a variety of complex ear conditions and hearing losses.
- Skills needed for evaluations include tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, OAE’s, pure tone and speech testing, conditioned play audiometry, visual reinforcement audiometry, speech-in-noise testing, central auditory processing evaluations, and cochlear implant evaluations.
- Provide auditory rehabilitation services, including the dispensing/fitting/service of hearing aids, assistive-listening devices and other appropriate technology.
- Initiate appropriate follow-up and referral appointments to other health care and/or educational professionals.
- Occasionally engage in testing outside the clinic and participate in community and hearing conservation events.
- Prepare timely written reports on patient visits following the agency guidelines for subsequent mailing and filing using our EMR system.
- Need to be proficient with computers and be able to learn new software for EMR and scheduling systems.
Requirements:
- A Master’s degree in Audiology required; a Doctoral degree preferred. Candidate must have a State of New York license to practice Audiology, a New York State license to dispense hearing aids and the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
