Job Description:
7 WEEK CONTRACT
- Position / Specialty: ER Tech
- Shift: Days/Evenings (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM)
- Patient Visits Per Day: 90-130
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of experience
- First-timers Accepted: Yes
- Weekend Requirement: Will work up to every other weekend as needed
- Certifications Required: BLS (Preferred: PALS, ACLS, EMT, EMT-B)
- Floating Requirement: May be floated to Med/Surg or SCU unit as an attendant as needed
- Pending License: Accepted
- Requested Time Off (RTO) Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
Special Requirements:
- Work Setting Experience Required: Acute Care, Urgent Care, Trauma Level 3, Teaching
- Work Setting Experience Preferred: Urgent Care, Trauma Level 1, Trauma Level 2, Children's Hospital
- General Skills Experience Required: Vital Signs, 12-lead EKG, AED/Defibrillator, Splinting, Wound Care, Crutch Training
- Patient Care Tech Experience: Minimum of 1 year of ED experience required
Education and Certifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's or Vocational degree in a health-related field preferred.
- Certifications:
- BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire.
- Licensed Emergency Medical Tech - EMT certification required if working in MN or WI.
- Medical Terminology knowledge preferred.
