Consumer Products Manufacturer/ Importer based in Fairfield, New Jersey is seeking a top-notch Product Assistant to assist one of our Brand Managers/ Product Development Managers. You will play a crucial role in supporting the successful development, production and marketing of consumer goods. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills, communication skills and able to work in a fast-past entrepreneurial environment.
Requirements:
· 3 or more years of experience in a business environment.
· Experience with consumer products & consumer products manufacturing is a MUST!
. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Power Point are a MUST!) and other relevant software applications.
· Strong problem-solving skills and be able prioritize workload.
· Keen attention to detail.
· Willingness to take on new challenges and work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
· Support Brand Manager as needed
· Communicate daily with overseas office and suppliers in China
· Perform administrative tasks such as organizing documents, managing product samples and more.
· Maintain comprehensive records of product specifications
· Create RFQ’s , contact suppliers, and follow up as needed
· Maintain project quote files and Supplier contact directory
· Sample requests to suppliers and follow up to get samples delivered in time, as needed for new product development, product “color refreshes”, and sales presentations
· Label and organize product samples (Supplier, item number, date, project etc.)
· Create Final RFQ’s from supplier quotes, add final images including packaging to the quote sheets as needed, link quote to min/max costing file
· Request competitive quotes for existing items from other suppliers, check for accuracy upon receipt
· Assist with contacting suppliers or pricing confirmation needed for upcoming meetings
· Maintain and organize pricing files. As we receive a new price for an existing item, update the RFQ’s and Accountedge
· Assist with gathering competitive information “competitive shopping”, either on-line or in-store, as needed for benchmarking specifications for new product development and sourcing; or for preparing competitive information for sales presentations
· Help completing tenders & quotes for all accounts
· Scanning, Electronic filing & Paper filing
· Other various light clerical and data entry duties
