We are looking to hire a Tax Manager to join our Roseville tax practice.

Our Tax Manager provides external support to our Senior Tax Managers and Partners to ensure optimal client service while maintaining the policies and procedures of the firm. The Tax Manager is responsible for assisting with the leading / managing complex tax compliance engagements in a timely manner – meeting deadlines, staying within budget, while identifying and responding to client issues in a courteous and professional manner.

The Tax Manager helps to ensure that client expectations are met to ensure satisfaction in all working relationships. He/she is a member of the firm’s sales force and may be called upon to help promote the firm and develop and nurture a network of clients, potential clients, and referral sources. The Tax Manager conducts reviews of tax returns, tax strategy / planning and other services, as required, while applying a strong understanding of current tax laws. The Tax Manager interacts well with all staff and may meet with existing clients and potential clients to help generate or maintain new business. He/she offers tax decisions / solutions proactively and is trusted to handle confidential issues. The Tax Manager has an important role in the training and development of the Tax Associates.

Job Description

• Reviews individual and business tax returns
• Manages multiple projects, meet deadlines & maintain budgets
• Strong ability to supervise, delegate and monitor workload of accountants
• Offers options and alternatives regarding tax and case decisions for Senior Tax Manager / Partner approval
• Nurtures relationships with clients, prospects and referral sources to generate and maintain client work
• Assists with training and development of staff
• Manages complex multiple engagements and projects, meet deadlines & maintain budgets
• Ability to assist with formal presentations - internally and externally

Qualifications·

• Working knowledge of local, state and federal tax compliance and regulatory standards (GAAP)
• Strong knowledge of tax software / systems
• Management experience with proven leaderships skills / abilities

• Solid with figures and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Exudes confidence from senior management team
• Maintains confidentiality and able to make critical decisions
• Maintains a CPA license in the state of California
