Sentoria’s client, steel fabrication/ construction company, is hiring for a Project Manager to oversee multiple commercial projects in the installation of steel structures including stairs, railings, carports, towers, bridges, fencing and miscellaneous metal structures.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of field supervision experience managing a crew
- Structural Steel installation experience required
- PROCORE experience highly desired.
- Organize and supervise Project Managers with Foremen, Field Crews and Subcontractors.
- Responsible for supervising employees with managing the shipment of the products, equipment, and tools necessary to perform all field operations on the project(s) assigned to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project.
- Acts as liaison with other departments to ensure all required materials, equipment and inspections support the project schedule, while correcting any discrepancies which may arise.
- This position will also directly interact with clients and is expected to be competent, knowledgeable, and professional always.
- Oversee and is responsible for construction safety, quality, and progress on all projects.
- Manage and direct with Project Managers with field crews that erect steel structures to specification with Safety, Productivity and Cost Control in mind.
- Review approved drawings, specifications, and other documents.
- Assess erection plans, method statements and rigging studies.
- Coordinate field measurement of all railings and issue to the production manager to be fabricated (write up ticket).
- Provide any field measurements to the Project Manager that may be required (excluding railings).
- Plan and supervise Project Managers with Foremen, Crews and Subcontractors, including determining the method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked.
- Coordinate with Production Manager/Shipping Manager/Foreman that the crew has all hardware and tools needed to perform the job.
- Coordinate with the Production Manager regarding all rental equipment needed for a particular project and call off equipment once complete.
- Coordinate assigned tasks with work/schedule of different trades.
- Assist Project Manager with job site conditions and overall progress.
- In conjunction with Senior Supervision, may plan, staff, and organize Field/Shop positions.
- Interacts with Project Management, Engineering, Estimating, Detailing and Planning to ensure work complies with contract requirements, drawings, specifications, and schedule.
- Inform project manager of any issues that may occur onsite that effects product and will require field modifications.
- Interacts with other departments (i.e., Shipping, Purchasing, Fabrication, Project Management) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support project schedule.
- Coordinate the shipment of products with Production Manager and/or Shipping Manager with their project(s).
- Responsible for resolving project related issues (lack of productivity, safety, quality, work interfaces, rework etc.) as needed.
- Inform Project Manager of any delays caused by General Contractor and/or other tradesmen.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders as needed for area of supervision. Ensure drawings and specifications are applied during Erection/Installation.
Ensure that the product installed is in an acceptable manner (quality control).
- Ensure that daily Timekeeping is complete and submitted to accurately reflect hours worked. Document crew attendance.
- Reviews and measures cost and man-hour budget for installation process.
- Participate in weekly Sub-Contractor progress/scheduling Meetings.
- Participate in Project Pre-Planning Meeting.
- Attend Safety and Quality Meetings.
- Lead/attend weekly and monthly Safety Meetings.
- Develop work plans for crews. Identify and develop alternate plans for schedule interference.
- Receive material. Establish receiving and inspection protocol.
- Conduct site specific Safety Training & JHAs.
- Conduct site audits/inspections.
- Assess work completion/quality.
- Assist in creating Requests for Information (RFI’s).
- Communicate requisition process. Track missing items or requisition items.
- Facilitate Subcontractor orientation and training.
- Capture field updates (quantities, hours, delays, change orders).
- May assist in developing cost estimates for contracts.
- Perform administrative activities to include completion of Daily Reports, Equipment Inspection, Field Measurements and recommending personnel actions.
- Inform Senior Level Supervision and Construction/Project Management of potential problems, work interference, schedule difficulties, etc. Assist in circumventing/resolving such problems as necessary.
- Coordinate resources/site logistics for mobilization. Plan laydown areas. Mobilize labor, equipment, materials, and Subcontractors.
- Perform additional assignments per General Superintendent’s/Project Manager’s request and/or direction.
