This is a full-time on-site role for an Emergency Veterinarian. The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for providing 24/7 urgent and emergency care to our clients' pets. This includes but is not limited to triaging, diagnosing, treating and discharging emergencies. The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for proper record keeping, utilizing hospital resources appropriately, and providing clients with education and advice. Our Emergency Veterinarians also work closely with our referring veterinarians to ensure continuity of care for our patients.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree
• Experience in emergency medicine or internship training in emergency medicine is preferred
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases efficiently and effectively
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well within a team as well as independently
• Willingness to learn and implement new technologies and techniques
• Interest and experience in surgery and/or ultrasonography is a plus
• Active and clean veterinary licensure in Connecticut or ability to obtain one
