Position Summary: The Pathology Billing Expert & General Office Manager will oversee all aspects of the pathology billing cycle, from coding and claims submission to payment processing and accounts receivable management. In addition, this role will manage daily office operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in medical billing, specifically in pathology, coupled with experience in office management.
Key Responsibilities:
Pathology Billing:
· Manage and oversee the entire pathology billing cycle, including coding, claims submission, and follow-up.
· Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies and other payers.
· Review and resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and rejections.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pathology billing regulations, coding guidelines (CPT, ICD-10), and payer requirements.
· Conduct regular audits of billing processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
· Generate and analyze billing reports to track performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
Office Management:
· Oversee daily office operations, including administrative support, scheduling, and supply management.
· Manage office staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
· Ensure compliance with office policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
· Handle correspondence, phone calls, and inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
· Maintain and organize office records, files, and documentation.
· Assist in budget management and financial planning for office-related expenses.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 7 years of experience in pathology billing, with a strong understanding of coding, claims processing, and reimbursement.
· Proven experience in office management, preferably in a healthcare or medical office setting.
· In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and other relevant coding standards.
· Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and billing software.
· Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or similar certification is preferred.
