We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practioner to join our healthcare team. In this role, under the direct supervision of a physician, you will provide comprehensive medical care to patients, collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the overall well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical examinations
-Perform medical work in the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in the Nephrology clinic and chronic dialysis unit.
- Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures
- Provide patient education on disease prevention, management, and treatment options
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using EMR.
Requirements:
- PA/NP has graduated from an accredited PA/NP program accredited by the Commission on Education for Physician's Assistants/Nurse Practioners and a California Board of PA/NP certified.
-A minimum of one year of experience working as a PA/NP preferred (Does not have to be in Dialysis)
- Proficient in medical terminology and diagnostic evaluation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is desirable, but not required.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
This is a full-time position working in Lompoc at least three days per week, in Santa Barbara one day per week, and a flexible, remote schedule on Fridays.
