Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and caring DENTAL ASSISTANT to join our team! As a dental assistant, you will be providing top-notch dental care and administrative/comprehensive skilled chair-side support and assisting services for patients during clinical treatment procedures. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently with moderate technical guidance.
Wage: $18-22 per hour
Preferred Qualifications:
OPTION 1 – One (1) year’s experience as a dental assistant
OPTION 2 – Completion of a Dental Assistant vocational curriculum in a school certified by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
Working knowledge of HIPPA compliance, PPO and dental terminology.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal patient service skills, and ability to multi-task.
Working knowledge of proper sterilization and instrument management techniques. Demonstrated experience in high volume, fast-pace environment.
Field of Expertise:
Working knowledge of dental management system. Bilingual skills verbal and written communication skills (preferably Spanish or Mandarin). Demonstrated experience and skills in variety of dental disciplines.
Job Responsibilities
· Prepare treatment/clinical areas for patient care.
· Organizes and prepare trays for dental procedures
· Prep patients and assist dentists with procedures
· Obtain vital signs and monitors patients for complications as needed
· Cleans up following procedures, dispose of waste, disinfect area after each patient, and sets up for next patient in accordance for established procedures.
· Maintains inventory of disposable materials, medications, dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in the dental operatory and those required for daily operation.
· Organizes supplies and equipment to minimize loss and maximize utilization
· Performs regular audits to ensure the removal of expired materials
· Maintains a clean and orderly clinic
· Sterilizes and disinfect instruments and equipment in accordance with established procedures
· Prepares materials for making impression and restoration as needed
· Exposes and process digital radiographs and practice radiation safety when using dental radiographs generators
· Provides administrative support (e.g., schedule, records) and problem resolution as required. Assists with patient registration, appointment scheduling, filing, scanning and other related administrate support duties as required
· Obtain dental history, records from patients, and ensure health histories are recorded and current. Provides patient education and treatment planning information as directed by dentist.
· Light physical effort which may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping or squatting
