We are currently on the lookout for a Pressure Safety Valve Engineer with expertise in BIM Modeling to support our clients engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of pressure safety valves within complex midstream oil and gas facilities. Your experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) will be crucial in ensuring the accurate integration of safety valves into the clients facility designs, improving safety, efficiency, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Specification: Design, select, and specify pressure safety valves (PSVs) in accordance with industry standards and client requirements.
- BIM Integration: Utilize BIM software to incorporate PSV designs into the 3D models of midstream oil and gas facilities, ensuring accurate placement and integration with other systems.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all PSV designs comply with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations, including ASME, API, and other industry standards.
- Clash Detection and Coordination: Work closely with the BIM Modeling team to perform clash detection and ensure that PSVs are properly integrated into the overall design, minimizing potential conflicts with other systems.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and expertise during the construction phase, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to PSVs and their integration within the facility.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including datasheets, technical specifications, and installation guides.
- Lifecycle Management: Support the ongoing maintenance and lifecycle management of pressure safety valves, using BIM models to track and manage valve data throughout the asset's life.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, piping, and process engineers, to ensure seamless integration of PSVs into facility designs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and specification of pressure safety valves in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on midstream operations.
- Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, such as Revit, AutoCAD, or Navisworks.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes related to pressure safety valves, including ASME Section VIII and API 520/521.
- Experience with clash detection and coordination within complex facility models.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
