RemX is assisting our client, a mid-sized law firm in Roseland NJ, with a search for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Dispute Attorney for their tax litigation team. As a Senior Tax Dispute Attorney, you will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of intricate tax disputes, advising clients on tax-related issues, and formulating effective legal strategies to achieve favorable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Lead a team of attorneys and paralegals in handling a wide range of tax dispute cases, including audits, appeals, negotiations, and litigation. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Legal Expertise: Possess a comprehensive understanding of tax laws, regulations, and precedents. Analyze intricate tax issues and develop innovative legal arguments to support clients' positions.

Client Representation: Represent clients before tax authorities, administrative bodies, and courts. Present compelling arguments and negotiate skillfully to resolve disputes in clients' favor.

Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including tax consultants, accountants, and business advisors, to provide holistic solutions that address clients' overall tax situations.

Risk Assessment: Evaluate potential risks and rewards associated with different dispute resolution strategies. Advise clients on the potential outcomes of various courses of action.

Client Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, keeping them informed about the progress of their cases, potential options, and legal strategies.

Precedent Monitoring: Stay current with tax laws, regulations, and legal precedents. Identify emerging trends that could impact clients' cases and adapt strategies accordingly.

Business Development: Actively participate in business development efforts, including networking, building relationships with clients, and contributing to the growth of the tax litigation practice.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in NJ.
• 7 + years of proven experience in tax dispute resolution, with a focus on complex cases.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and procedures.
• Exceptional analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Excellent negotiation and advocacy abilities.
• Leadership experience, including managing a team of attorneys.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated track record of successful case outcomes and client satisfaction.
