POSITION TITLE: VP, Donor Development and Relationships
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The VP, Donor Development and Relations is responsible for setting strategy and leading Precept’s fundraising team in executing plans to achieve Precept’s fundraising goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Creates and implements a strategic plan to raise funds for Precept in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner.
· Develops fundraising campaigns and events that engage donors and foster long-term relationships.
· Personally, maintains a major giver caseload.
· Oversees planning and execution of Precept’s annual fundraising event.
· Leads and manages Precept’s fundraising team in Identifying new potential donors and stakeholders, cultivating those relationships, and maintaining relationships with existing givers.
· Coordinates with other departments to effectively execute fundraising initiatives.
· Oversees the development budget and monitors department expenses.
· Tracks donation activity, maintains accurate donation records, and provides timely reporting and analytics.
· Works with Precept’s marketing team to develop marketing materials and fundraising campaigns.
· Works closely with the senior leadership team to track progress towards development goals.
· Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, maintaining accountability standards to donors and ensuring compliance with code of ethics principles and transparency.

· Strategic planning abilities to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans.
· Superior interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with donors, stakeholders, and team members.
· Strong financial acumen to manage budgets, financial goals and demonstrate fiscal responsibility.
· Detail-oriented analytical skills for identifying fundraising opportunities and monitoring fundraising activities.
· Proficient networking skills to expand donor base and secure new funding sources.
· Ability to use CRM and other fundraising software to track and analyze donor information and preferences.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in fundraising, alumni affairs, public relations, student activities, program administration or a related field. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Prior history of successful donor development a must.
