Position Overview: The Bookkeeper/Finance Manager will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the company. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, financial reporting, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure the company’s financial stability.
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports in a timely manner.
- Manage and track company expenses, ensuring compliance with budgets and financial policies.
Financial Management:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasting future financial performance and identifying areas for cost reduction.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
- Oversee tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with external auditors and accountants as needed.
Strategic Financial Planning:
- Assist in developing and implementing financial strategies to support the company’s growth objectives.
- Evaluate and manage financial risks, proposing solutions to mitigate potential issues.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic business planning and operational decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance management.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
