The Credit Analyst assists lending officers with review and analysis of loan requests, both new and renewals. This includes analyzing financial statements and tax returns, performing debt service analysis, and analyzing the loan structure. Additionally, the Credit Analyst monitors loans for covenant compliance and tracking of required financial reporting. Occasionally, the Credit Analyst will attend customer meetings with the loan officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following

• Assisting loan officers with preparing a loan presentation and determining the credit risk associated with proposed loans by spreading financial statements in Sageworks and providing analysis of the same.

• Make calls with lenders on prospective clients at their place of business.

• Tracking & updating loan exceptions.

• Inputting credit documents for tracking.

• Processing credit reference requests.

• Scan, index, and file credit documents in a back-up capacity for the department’s Manager.

• Order and review real estate appraisals.

• Run various reports as needed in a back-up capacity for the department’s Manager.
• Interact positively with other departments and offices of Plains State Bank to achieve a teamwork environment by maintaining external and internal customer service.

• Ability to read and interpret financial analysis. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, and key industry ratios.
• Ability to offer alternate credit structures. Ability to interpret spreads and ratios in relation to company performance.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software and accounting software.
