Job Summary:
The Maintenance Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and engineering operations of the facility. This role ensures the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all equipment and systems through effective planning, coordination, and leadership of the maintenance team. The Maintenance Engineering Manager will develop and implement maintenance strategies, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance technicians and engineers.
- Develop training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the maintenance team.
- Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork within the department.
Maintenance Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
- Oversee the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Manage and optimize spare parts inventory to support maintenance activities.
Engineering and Technical Support:
- Provide technical expertise and support for troubleshooting and resolving complex equipment issues.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design and implement equipment modifications and upgrades.
- Ensure that all maintenance and engineering activities comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, including labor, materials, and capital expenditures.
- Monitor and control maintenance costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers for maintenance and repair services.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing any identified hazards or non-compliance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and compliance documentation.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Analyze maintenance data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in industrial maintenance or engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, including PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using maintenance management software (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require working in industrial environments, including exposure to noise, heat, and machinery.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Occasional travel may be required for training or to support other company facilities.
