**Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide essential support to attorneys specializing in labor and employment law, ensuring smooth operations and efficient client service.
**Responsibilities:**
1. **Legal Documentation Preparation:** Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and briefs related to labor and employment law matters.
2. **Case Management:** Organize and manage case files, including maintaining and updating electronic and physical files, tracking deadlines, and ensuring all case materials are up to date and easily accessible.
3. **Client Communication:** Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, and courts, both in person and via phone and email, ensuring timely responses and maintaining positive client relationships.
4. **Research and Analysis:** Conduct legal research using various resources to support attorneys in case preparation and strategy development, including gathering relevant laws, regulations, and precedent.
5. **Administrative Support:** Provide administrative assistance such as scheduling appointments, managing attorney calendars, preparing expense reports, and handling billing and invoicing tasks.
6. **Court Filings:** Assist in filing legal documents with federal and state courts, including electronic filing systems, and ensuring compliance with court rules and procedures.
7. **Discovery and Document Management:** Assist in managing discovery processes, including reviewing documents, organizing exhibits, and preparing for depositions and hearings.
8. **Legal Compliance:** Stay updated on changes in labor and employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide relevant updates to attorneys and clients.
**Requirements:**
- At least 3 years of proven experience working in labor and employment law.
-Prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of electronic filing systems (e.g., PACER) and case management software is a plus.
Salary: 50k-85k
